analysis of tv drama (misfits)
1)
Techniques used in misfits ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOCZl2ENf-w )
Use of sound:
the way in how the music suddenly changes to an errie threatening type of music before anything bad has happend makes the viewr interested and whants to know whats going on.
Use of camera angles:
The way how most of the shots were over the sholder shots this adds to the feeling that there being watched by someone and something is sneeking up/watching them.
The way how in the beginning everything was blurred out except one character makes the viewers focus on that specific character.
Eye line match:
all the charactes faces are centered in the middle of the screen with the characters eyes all located on the 1st 1/3 section of the shot to make the viewres notice been drawn to the characters eyes.
2)
What techniques enhance our viewing experiance and create realism?
Techniques used that create realism would be the way the lighting changes and dims so that it seems more realistic and is not so perfect making it seem more realistic.
another technique would be how the mise en scene makes everything look like its meant to be there and the little details can make the viewer relate the programe to there lives.
realism is good for tv dramas as they allow the user to relate to the programe and with this it makes the user want to watch more as they can personally relate to it.
Techniques that enhance our viewing experiance would be :
editing techniques such as : match on action, transitions, time compression, removing/ adding images, still frame/ freeze and eye line matches.
These enhance our viewing experiance as it makes the viewer intreted in the programme as it adds effects that the viewer wouldnt see in every day life and this makes them interested as to what else they will see throughout the programme.
